Marian's Garden

This cute little lady (formerly a Dermatologist) welcomed us into her garden and gave a tour that Sienna and I just loved. There is so much history in her backyard and even though her husband is passed she still says "our cactus's" or "our lemon trees". Fact 1. She has the same cacti that were planted in his and her shoes for years lining the driveway. Fact 2. Her housekeeper was in the house making her husband's favorite dish that was his own recipe. Once a week without fail this happens. Fact 3. This was her second marriage (first hubby preferred men) to the man of her dreams. He cherished her, bought her trees, roses, shrubbery and really made one beautiful backyard. Fact 4. The plant she is standing in front of is the last picture she has of her mother alive and the flowers were in full bloom. Her mom lived in the guest house and loved looking at all the flowers while Marian cared for her. She offered me a lemon and as you can see I am no fool, the lemon trees are one of her cherished items in the garden. I couldn't agree more.
